Ban on OnePlus lifted, OnePlus One to start selling in India

The ban which was imposed on OnePlus One sale in India has been lifted and OnePlus can start selling the One model in India. Let me give you a short context to what led this ban. Indian mobile manufacturing country Micromax signed an agreement with Cyanogen that only Micromax will have the right to use CyanogenMod ROM based mobile devices in India. This agreement sealed the fate of OnePlus which was about to launch the device OnePlus One in India. The model One is obviously running the CyanogenMod based ROMS which caused a ban on itself. Finally after a lot of hurdle, the ban has been lifted from OnePlus. The underlying reason is the difference in the target markets of both the companies. While Micromax is known for making low range budget smartphones, OnePlus aims for high end market.

So apparently OnePlus has won the battle but there is a flip side too. Since the deal is still continuing between Micromax and Cyanogen, even if OnePlus one starts rolling out in India, it will not receive any updates to their system. So, the immediate resolutiom does not fully overcome the troubles faced by OnePlus and its customers
