If you are a smartphone addict and are tired of listening to advice on the disadvantages of using smartphone, there is a affirmative news for you. Scientists from University of Zurich, Switzerland have worked out a surprising outcome for their project. Scientist Arko Ghosh, author of the paper said that he was amazed to notice the changes induced in brain while using smartphones. The activity is maximum when the use uses all three fingers on the touch screen. He said,”I was really surprised by the scale of the changes introduced by the use of smartphones. I was also struck by how much of the inter-individual variations in the fingertip-associated brain signals could be simply explained by evaluating the smartphone logs.”

The experiment was carried by researchers of University of Zurich using electroencephalography (EEG) to record the brain response of people using smartphone. It has been found that the activity of the cortex of the brain was linked with the thumb and index fingertips and increased proportionally with the activity of the fingertips. The result of the study was published in Cell Press journal Current Biology. Finally scientist found out the conclusion that “cortical sensory processing in the contemporary brain is continuously shaped by personal digital technology.”
