Big news for Xiaomi fans! Recently a legit report was published which had description about the sequel of Mi 4, Xiaomi Mi 5! One of the highlighting features of Mi 5 that have created so much buzz is fingerprint scanner underneath for device authentication and wireless payments!! Although there was no word on how and where Xiaomi will implement the technology, this indeed has created some interest for upcoming Xiaomi device! You are gonna have to hold on to that excitement though, as the new Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to be released by November.
The Xiaomi Mi 5, codenamed Libra, is said to have a 5.3-inch display with 5.3-inch Quad HD display with pixel density of 554ppi. Under the hood will be the Snapdragon 820 SoC and it will be using 4GB of RAM. 16GB/64GB of internal (expandable) memory should be available, and the rear camera is expected to weigh in at 16MP. A 6MP front camera is expected to be fit in. Keeping the lights on will be the job of a 3030mAh battery inside, and Android 5.1.1 is said to be pre-installed. A fingerprint scanner is rumored to be included with the Mi 5.
The handset was originally slated to be unveiled in July, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Mi 5’s delay in release till November is rumored to be because the firm is taking extra majors to make sure that new Snapdragon 810 chipset won’t have any thermal issues as we’ve seen earlier this year and there will be no issues obtaining the Snapdragon 820 chipset in the volume it needs! It will be interesting to see the implementation of the fingerprint scanner on the Mi 5 as Google is officially supporting it this time!! So expect something good in it!! However for Android fold this is not new as likes of Samsung have been using it since the Galaxy S5 now, while HTC also used a fingerprint scanner on the One Max in 2013, so it won’t be new to the Android fold.
Whatever be the action, be it publishing the report or highlighting the new features in new product, Xiaomi is spot on and it has definitely created excitement among gadget freaks! Let’s see if Xiaomi can keep up with the hype it has created!
