Airbnb adds new feature that allows neighbours to complain against other renters

Airbnb is a website that manages and provides list of homes, apartments, rent lodging to customers across 1,500,000 listings in 34,000 cities and 190 countries. The company has recently updated its service and added a very useful feature. The new feature allows neighbours of the renters to complain directly to the home provider company in case they face genuine difficulties from the renters. It hasn’t been unveiled whether the complaints will be made public. Airbnb has also not commented what step will they take in case multiple complaints against the same customer reach them.

An Airbnb spokesperson, the spokesperson wrote in an email:

We are proud to have built a respectful and compassionate community. Most Airbnb hosts are sharing the home they live in and we give them tools they need to only welcome respectful travelers. If issues do arise, we work with our community to try and resolve them. In the next month we are planning to start offering a new feature on our website that will enable neighbors to register a complaint directly to our customer service team for follow up. We will have more details when we formally launch the product in the coming weeks.

Since Airbnb is a rapidly expanding business, a huge number of people are taking rents for homes, party houses and apartments. Neighbours often get disturbed by the customers and the company thought that the neighbours should be given a fair chance of complain in case the renters are not behaving properly. As a reputed company, they hold equal responsibility if their customers are causing discomfort to others.
