But ahead of the press event to be held in New Delhi, the online sale of Android One smartphone has already begun. The device is Spice Android One Dream UNO mi-498 which is priced at Rs 6999. It features a 4.5 inch screen, FM radio, dual SIM capacity, 1.3 GHz MediaTek processor, 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of storage combined with a 5 MP rear camera.

The advantage of such partnership is that it will come in low cost phones which will feature many high end features thus making cheaper phones carry a lot of features in them. Though it is specially built for small budget phones, Google will not compromise in the quality of it by taking various quality control measures.

Following Spice, Karbonn and Micromax as well are also expected to come up with devices running Android One. With this initiative, Google hopes to have a good grip over Indian markets and this will hopefully help Google in raising its OS adoption rate.
