Check Out The Sony Xperia 10 Plus Review

Sony has recently launched its new four devices- Sony Xperia 1, Xperia 10, Xperia 10 Plus, and Xperia L3. Targetting the mid-range bracket, Xperia 10 Plus comes with 21:9 Wide display 6.5” Full HD+ display, Snapdragon 636 SoC, a dual rear camera sensor, 3000mAh battery, and no notch. The device has its big list of shortcomings with pretty little pros. But, is it still a sustainable device in the market? But, is it a good competition to the other devices coming in this price bracket? Let’s check it out in the Sony Xperia 10 plus review below:

Design and Display

The Sony Xperia 10 Plus is a tall device which when comes in hands feels awkward. This makes it a two-handed device which is quite thin.  The device packs Corning Gorilla Glass on both front and rear. The rear panel is basically plastic with a dual camera lens. Honestly, the back panel doesn’t look that good if you compare it with other flagship devices in the market right now and you can make purchase of this device using AliExpress Discounts.

On the right, you get to see a power button, volume rocker, and fingerprint scanner. On the top, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack while on the bottom, you get a USB-C port and dual speaker grille. The buttons on the side can be reached easily as the device is tall, so Sony has placed them low- easy to reach.

Coming to the display, Sony Xperia 10 Plus packs a 21:9 Wide display 6.5” Full HD+ display. The display is quite impressive and bright. While playing games and watching videos, it will even impress its users in dark scenes. Sony has used Image Enhance Technology in it which makes it even better. The device has no notch- just the conventional design with the thick bezel on top. But, all said the display of Xperia 10 Plus is stunning.

Performance

Under the hood, Sony Xperia 10 Plus has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB eMMC internal storage. The internal storage can be further expanded up to 512GB via a microSDXC card. The device performs really well- really well means it is awesome with this mid-range processor too.  However, you get stutters and lags in games like PUBG Mobile and ARK: Survival Evolved. So, overall, the device is solid in day-to-day performance but it is not for gamers.

The speakers in the Sony Xperia 10 Plus are pretty loud and outputs great and clear sound quality- punchy beats and bass.

Cameras and Battery Life

Coming to the cameras, Xperia 10 Plus has a dual rear camera including a 12MP (f/1.75) wide-angle main camera with an 8MP (f/2.4) secondary lens. For selfies, you get a single 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera. In the day shots, the camera didn’t perform exceptionally well but was good enough with aesthetics and detailing. In night mode, the real magic happens, no noise and great detailing can be seen in the shots.

The Sony Xperia 10 Plus houses a medium capacity 3000 mAh battery life which is really low. In terms of battery, there various options available and you can buy them using Flipkart Offers Today Special Offer. You must not expect a lot from this battery as it will barely cross 17-18 hours mark on typical usage. The device comes with Sony’s USB Power Delivery fast charge which can charge the device in 100 minutes which is really slow to charge such a minimal battery. You get two battery saving modes in this device- Stamina Mode, which restricts some functions of the device and Ultra Stamina Mode, which is even stricter and only makes phone enable to pick calls, play music and texting.

Other Features

The Sony Xperia 10 Plus runs Android 9 Pie out of the box. The device comes with some good features- one of being, Side Sense, if you tap the right edge twice, a small menu comes up with most-used apps. Also, there’s a One Handed Mode which diminishes the screen size if you double tap the home button. The connectivity options and sensors include A-GNSS (GPS + GLONASS)7, Bluetooth 5.0 wireless technology, Google Cast, NFC, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, eCompass, Fingerprint sensor, Hall sensor, Magnetometer, Significant motion detector, and Proximity sensor.

The Xperia 10 comes in four color variants: Black, Gold, Navy, and Silver.

Verdict

If you want to watch a premium device just for movies, then the Sony Xperia 10 Plus might come in handy. The device is good for reading books, watching movies and playing some games- not the high-end ones. The tall design is not cool at all and it is really irritating to go to the top of the screen with the second hand. The battery too isn’t that good as you might fuel it after 12 hours on even medium usage. All in all, this device is for the movies lovers, but are you ready to spend a big amount for that only? Otherwise, you can get way better options in this price range.
