There was a lot of speculations regarding Android Wear support with iOS. Finally, all the rumors have turned true and Google have officially announced that they will be bringing Android wear support to iPhones. But there is a catch! Not all iPhones and not all Android Wear devices will have this support. Only iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6, 6 Plus and those running iOS 8.2+ will be compatible. Now among Android Wears, only the latest ones that have launched in the market will be compatible to he pairing app.

Android Wear with the latest software out of the box will get paired up. So, looking at the current line up of Android Wear devices, the iOS app will only work with LG Watch Urbane. Other than this watch, all other Android wearables which will release in near future like few upcimg releases of Huaweu, Asus, Motorola will support iOS.

According to Android Wear blog, the Android wear for iOS will do the following :

Get your info at a glance: Check important info like phone calls, messages, and notifications from your favorite apps. Android Wear features always-on displays, so you’ll never have to move your wrist to wake up your watch.

Follow your fitness: Set fitness goals, and get daily and weekly views of your progress. Your watch automatically tracks walking and running, and even measures your heart rate.

Save time with smart help: Receive timely tips like when to leave for appointments, current traffic info, and flight status. Just say “Ok Google” to ask questions like “Is it going to rain in London tomorrow?” or create to-dos with “Remind me to pack an umbrella.”
