Google will not allow these Android users to Sign in to their Android devices

9 Apps Which Are Must-Have For Your Android Smartphone

Google is finally ending its support for Android 2.3.7 and below. Thus, it won’t allow users to sign in to these versions anymore. Google has emailed to all individual users, who are still using these obsolete Android versions. Google mentioned that, “signing in to your account on Google apps will no longer be supported”.

If you are wondering which Android versions have lost this support, here is the complete list of versions:

  • Android 1.0
  • Android 1.1
  • Android 1.5 Cupcake
  • Android 1.6 Donut
  • Android 2.0 Eclair
  • Android 2.2 Froyo
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread

According to Google, this decision has been taken to curb the growing menace of cybercrime. The Android versions mentioned above are obsolete and do not receive any security or feature update from Google. Thus, any vulnerability in any of this versions will remain there. Allowing users to sign in to these versions is dangerous. However, Google said that this change has been brought to the sign in process in the Google Play Store account, and Google accounts such as YouTube, Gmail, Google Drive, etc. But users will still be able to use web browser.

Users using Android versions 3.0 or newer can sign in normally. There is still more than a month for users to change their device. The support for signing in with a Google account will end on September 27.
