Social Media giant Instagram recently confirmed that they are testing video tagging facility for a limited number of devices. The video tagging feature will enable users to directly tag their friends and contacts in their video posts. Tagging on Instagram photos is an old feature. But tagging on videos have not been there. users were desperately asking for the feature as Instagram supports cool Boomerang and other edited videos which deserve to be tagged. Hence, the photo sharing media giant is finally testing the feature on several platforms.

The users who have received the feature for testing said that the feature is similar in functionality to that of the photo tags. A “Share” option will be there which can be used for tagging friends on a video. The small share icon will appear at the bottom left of the video interface. Once, tagged the video will display and let you video which friends have been tagged on the video. Pressing the people icon on the video will redirect users to a page titled “People in this Video”, rather than displaying the tagged names over the actual content. So, the tagging feature of videos will not be as simple as the photos tag.

The tags will display in a new page. It will show not only the names of people who have been tagged by the original user who posted the video, but also all people who appeared on the video at any point. The feature will soon be rolled out to all users worldwide, right now, it is too early to say when exactly will the feature be made available to the public.
