Some users even retweet contents that are related to that account on professional ground continuously. These accounts are alleged to be bots and to your surprise Twitter has got 23 million bots out of its total 271 million users worldwide.

Twitter clarified the statistics that the continuous tweets relating to customer service are nothing but automated bots and their number constitutes as large as 8.5 % of the total user base. The statistics was updated for June 2014. Quartz also deduced from the disclosures that 7 million (2.5%) of Twitter’s monthly users use this service via third party clients. Whenever you follow a person , a thanksgiving message along a link is forwarded. These activities represent bots.
According to Quartz, many such users can be authentic but chances are low. These accounts have a typical pattern of tweets and hence they are out and out considered spam and ignored.
