NASA released some of its amazing collections of vintage photos taken in space on the occasion of its 60th birthday. NACA, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics was changed to NASA (the National Aeronautics and Space Administration) exactly 60 years ago. Since then, there has been no looking back for NASA but only looking up in the sky. A few years later in 1961, the Apollo Project was launched. The main aim of the project was to get human being to the moon and then get them back safely to the earth.
The repetitive missions to the space and the moon, some success and some failures strengthened the pillars of NASA. Bill Anders ‘Earthrise’ photograph, which was captured during Apollo 8 is still on the most iconic and classic shots ever. Besides, there are a plethora of amazing images that depicts the journey of mankind into the space.
The Project Apollo Archive is a collection of such vibrant pictures that were taken during the Apollo missions. The archive is a humongous collections of images that is too big to fit into an article like this. Hence, we are showing some of the iconic images archived in The Project Apollo.
