The new Venue 8 7000 Series tablet by Dell is claimed to be the world’s thinnest tablet with a thickness of about 6 mm. It was unveiled in the annual Intel Developer Forum from which it is clear that the new tablet will be powered by Intel processor. The hype surrounding this product is not just about it being paper-thin but also about its 3D RealSense camera by Intel.
This Android tablet will have a WQXGA display with a resolution of 2560 X 1600 pixels. With such a resolution it will have a pixel density of about 359 ppi. Again the 3D camera which is a cutting edge feature in the new tablet is a depth-sensing technology. It will be able to map a 2D image with 3D capabilities and can also determine size, distance and shapes of objects. This feature can be used for advanced imagery purpose since images can be modified at different layers. In addition to this, the camera will also be able to scan objects which can later be duplicated in 3D printers. The tablet will run on a quad-core Intel Atom Z3500 processor known as Moorefield and will feature 4G LTE connectivity. For more specifications on the Venue tablet we shall supposedly have to wait until its release towards the end of this year.
