Intel Demonstrates 10 nm Ice lake Chip At CES 2019

The CES 2019 event is here and like every year, technology and electronics companies have gathered to showcase their finest devices. Intel first conceptualized Cannon Lake Processor back in 2016 but the launch was not possible due to some unavoidable events. Now, in CES 2019, the company has debuted its 10 nm Ice Lake Chip.

The Ice Lake Chip is based on the Sunny Cove Architecture. Sunny Cove Architecture is a complex architecture to explain in a few lines. But for readers, we are keeping it as non technical and simple as possible. The benefits of Sunny Cove architecture are to execute multiple operations in parallel. The key buffers and caches are larger in size and hence helps in optimizing data centric works and functions. The architecture is based on certain algorithms that reduce latency and imposes performance boosting instructions for cryptography, like AES and SHA-NI, compression, decompression, etc.

Ice Lake processor will be integrated with Thunderbolt 3, Wi-Fi 6, Deep LKearning Boost in PCs. The new processor will start rolling out in the first holiday season of the year.

Other than this, Intel unveiled many more interesting projects at CES 2019. This includes autonomous driving, 5G, artificial intelligence. For artificial inteliigence, Intel launched the Nervana Neural Network Processor.
