Nexus 6 official announcement – a brief outline; specs and features of Nexus 6

The new member of Nexus family has finally arrived. This gadget is the first Nexus product of Motorola and also the first Nexus Phablet. Google announced Nexus 6 with a couple of devices and the new OS Android Lollipop yesterday. The phone Nexus 6 by Motorola is water resistant with a huge screen, greater battery life and better camera.



Nexus 6 runs a Quad core Snapdragon 805 processor with processing speed 2.7 GHz. It has the well advanced Krait 450 / Adreno 420 GPU.

The device runs a 3 GB RAM with an in-built memory of 32 GB or 64 GB. The device is supposedly not supporting expandable memory slot, at least not specified by Motorola.

5.96-inch, that is, approximately 6 inches with Quad HD display, 2560 x 1440 resolution is a perfect big screen for watching movies and videos. However, the big screen might not be a preferred option for everyone considering it to be a phone screen. Dimensions and Weight 82.98 mm x 159.26 mm x 10.06 mm, 184 grams. The large phone is a definitely a pleasure to the eye but reduces the feasibility of its portability.

Enhanced battery life with 3220 mAh battery can work upto 24 hours. It supports wireless charging and a new feature known as the Turbo Charging. Turbo charging enables you to charge your phone in a very short time, approximately 15 minutes for 6 hours of power charge. The charging capability is average rating and the charging rate can vary from device to device depending on the signal strength, apps running and CPU performance.


Nexus 6 comes with a 13 MP IMX 214 Image Sensor and a 2 MP selfie camera. It also supports 4K UHD video capture.
