Vaio is rumored to launch a smartphone and the rumored smartphone will probably be launched at the CES 2015 which is going to be held next week. We have heard about the dying condition of Vaio Corporation which compelled Sony to sell Vaio to Japan Industrial Partners. Sony still owns 5% minority stake of Vaio. We are well aware of the popular range of laptops and hence the company is planning to revive its lost business with this good fame. Not much information on specs could be fetched except its possibility to sport a 5 inch screen and Android operating system. But it would not be hard to wait since the CES is just few days away. According to Nikkei, this smartphone will “feature an app that can manage email as well as phone and video calls all together”.
One thing which might strike you is Sony’s reaction on the launch of Vaio branded smartphones. Since Sony still holds 5% share of the company, it might object on the release of smartphones as the company would never appreciate any competition with Xperia phones. However experts think that the chance of clash is very low since Xperia targets the elite market with its high end products, Vaio will target the mid range market.
